Community Running is a Boston/Cambridge area running club that offers runners encouragement, coaching, practical advice, and plenty of fun while pursuing their goals. We have learned through experience that when we run together we stay more motivated, train harder, and run better than we ever thought possible. Some of our members are experienced and fast runners while others are just starting to run. But we all have something in common: we like to run and think that running has to be fun.
So whether your goal is to get in better shape, qualify for Boston, beat your previous personal record, or stay fit for the rest of your life, we’d love to help you achieve it. Join us for a workout and find the skills you never knew you had! Use the menu to the right to learn more about us. Feel free to contact us!
A bit of history: Community Running was founded in spring 1998 by Bill Comer and a small group of runners who ran their first marathons with various charities. Under Bill’s guidance, the club’s supported runs attracted a membership of more than 65 members in the first year. Community Running’s success attracted the interest of George Becker, who realized that the club’s mission could help him further his goal of promoting a healthy lifestyle and support for charities. George’s funding allowed the club to provide professional coaches for three workouts every week, including speed work, tempo runs, and indoor track workouts in the winter.
We are grateful to Kualo for providing us with free charity hosting.
