Grand Prix 2008

The CR Summer Grand Prix is back due to popular demand! We had a great time last summer running races of varying distances in and around Boston.

This year's line up is slightly different than last year's. We made small changes based on the feedback we received and have chosen 8 races of varying distances -- from a 1 miler to a half marathon --- spread out over the summer. Some are during weeknights and others are on weekends. We will go for food and drinks after each event!

You can participate in all or some of the races in the series. You will be scored on 5 races and you get to pick which ones to include.

Scoring -- the details: For each race that a member runs, his/her time will be translated into a scale using an age-graded system. Check out this page to find out more. Then the top 10 finishers according to the age-gender adjusted results will be awarded points for their performance. 15 points for the top finisher, 14 points for the second place finisher,..., 6 points for the 10th place finisher. Any other runner who completes the race gets 5 points. (This way running the race is better than staying in bed --points-wise, that is). At the end of the summer, the top 5 point values for each runner will be combined into that runner's Grand Prix total.
